Since its foundation in the 12th century, until today, alot has changed in the architecture of the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora. From the primitive medieval monastery to the megalomaniac project of D. Filipe I of Portugal, through the decorative arts of the Bragança dynasty and the re-adaptation of the monastery as a museum in the 20th century. The evolution of the space that constitutes this key monument for the history of Portugal is closely linked to the passage of centuries.
